A visionary author, wellbeing and business transformation consultant, she founded Softer Success® to provide evidence-backed solutions for businesses to transform the way we work. Working with the world’s top universities, researchers and psychologists, she created the ground-breaking, anonymous wellbeing assessment & certification ‘A Walk Through the Forest‘, which can diagnose the risk of workplace toxicity & burnout in 90 seconds. Cara’s focus is on creating a strategies to integrate healthy business systems and creating burnout proof businesses
Having experienced burnout herself, working in fast-paced, multinational companies such as Google and Reckitt Benckiser, Cara is committed to helping people restore their overstimulated nervous systems and rewire their neural pathways to live a more balanced life. Her work builds on the UN Sustainable Development Goals of good health and wellbeing. Cara is a member of the Human Flourishing Network at Harvard.
Working with behavioural scientists and psychology professors at King’s College, London, she identified the wellbeing challenges faced by business leaders in the ‘Why Wellbeing Needs to Be a Business Goal’ study.
She has also introduced the term “Moral Injury ” & ‘Moral Resilience’ into a business wellbeing context, which she developed when examining the long-term consequences of stress in the business setting in the ‘Links Between Burnout & Moral Injury’ study with the University of Sheffield.
Cara is a sought-after keynote speaker and is regularly invited to speak at organisations such as Google, Philips and the United Nations. Her book, Softer Success: Prevent Burnout, Find Balance and Re-Define Your Success, was published in 2019. Cara is an associate of and works closely with the International Stress Management Association (ISMA).
Based on research results, she created the ‘Burnout Proof’ programmes, which enable corporations to combat the risk of burnout. Cara believes that, by fundamentally changing the way we work, we will have the right energy to better look after ourselves and the planet in the future.
She founded the ‘Work Reset Revolution’ movement and podcast, in which she speaks to respected doctors, scholars and business leaders, proving with data the need to radically change our working habits. Recently, she also started the ‘Letters from the future’, in which she discusses solutions for the future of work, international collaboration and our planet.
